Cassie Shepherd is a great, great, great granddaughter of John F. and Fannie Wilcox Shepherd.

Mrs. Cassandra “Cassie” Shepherd Thompson, age 39, of 9199 Grayson Green Lane, Sherrills Ford, NC, died Saturday evening, May 1, 2004, in Catawba County, from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Shepherd. She is survived by her husband, Denver Carson Thompson II of the home; two sons, Trey and Ryan Sutherland of Elk Creek, Va.; her mother, Earlene Houck Shepherd of Laurel Springs; a sister, Judy Crepps of Laurel Springs; a brother, Chip Shepherd of Sparta; her paternal grandmother, Lessie Shepherd of Laurel Springs. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5th at Bellview Baptist Church in Laurel Springs with burial in the Cranberry Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the funeral services to lie in state. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta, and at other times at the home of her mother at, 4424 Cranberry Creek Road, in Laurel Springs, where friends may call at any time.
